Welcome to Limboland!

Recently it seems as if our family has taken a trip to "Limboland".  You know about being "in limbo", right?  Where things are mostly up in the air, where you're not really certain what's up...that's how things are seeming to be for our family right now.  And let me you tell you, Limboland is not my favorite place to be!  In fact, I find it interesting that one of the definitions for "limbo" has to do with being on the border of hell.  Some days that's how Limboland feels!!!

One way we're in limbo is that we're building a house and we have our current house up for sale.  We are not quite here, and not quite there.   We don't know for sure when our new house will be finished, and we don't know when the current house will sell.   Our friends here are still kind to us, but most often they ask us "When is your house going to be finished?", which to my own insecurities sometimes feels like: "Are you still here? When are you going away?"

Mel seems to be living in Limboland also.  She has a boy that she's dated some this semester, but currently they're not really dating, but yet they hang around each other so much still that sometimes it feels like they are still dating.  She's in Limboland, waiting for the semester to end and for them not to see each other everyday so that they can both move on.  She's also in Limboland with student teaching, knowing that she's doing it this fall but not yet knowing where.

We also have a messy family situation with extended family that has left a lot of us in Limboland, wondering how it will all shake out and what will happen with each member of our family who has been affected.

Chances are, as bothersome and irritating as I find Limboland to be and how much I do NOT want it to become my permanent residence, that I should probably try somewhat to enjoy my stay.  Philippians 4:11 says "I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content."  Maybe I can seek to be content in this unsure state.

Or maybe Limboland could be renamed "Patience Place", and I can see it as a chance for me to learn to just wait patiently for life to unfold.  Philippians 4:13 offers advice on the person who I might want right next to me as I wait patiently: "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."  Surely patience strengthens us, for as James 1:4 says, "Let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing."

So, I'll wait patiently, and hope for a speedy departure from Limboland.  In fact (excuse the Jame 1:4 pun), I want nothing more!
