We are waiting for Trevor's mission call to come this week.
It didn't come on Tuesday.
Not on Wednesday either.
I hope on Thursday!
And not on Friday (too long to wait!).
It's been a missionary week around here so far. On Monday we were invited to a ward member's home for Family Home Evening, where we were asked to talk about missionary stuff. Once a month for FHE this family invites people over to talk about missions and missionary stuff in hopes that it will instill a love of missionary work in their kids. Trevor talked about preparing for his mission, and we let them guess where he might go (they went with Chile, where their Dad had served). I talked about something a missionary always has with him. Not his name tag, not his scriptures, not his Preach My Gospel...but a companion. Then I showed pictures of Bradley and some of his companions, and had a matching game based on missionary companionships found in section 52 of the Doctrine and Covenants. Craig then talked about his mission and shared some experiences and trivia from that. It was a really cool evening, and I would highly recommend that as a neat FHE to try.
On Tuesday we had the missionaries over for dinner. Instead of the 5 PM time we thought they were coming, they asked us to let them come at 6:30 (after a leadership meeting they had.) That was fine, except that Trevor was leaving at 6 for Young Mens, and Jacob was leaving at 7 for his Young Mens. So, our boys didn't get as much time with the missionaries as we had hoped.
On Wednesday we got a box from our current missionary (Bradley) full of stuff he wanted to send home and not cart around anymore.
On Thursday we get a call? Keeping our fingers crossed!!!
